My mum's garden in the spring

Smile!  At the bluebells, waving in breeze
Bob!  Goes the robin, bobbing round their knees
POP!  Sounds the rhubarb, growing in the patch
Woof!  Says Pippin, finishing off her scratch

Heave!  Go the seedlings, growing ever tall
Coo!  Say the turtle doves, shagging on the wall
Blushed!  Is the apple blossom, pinking on the bough
Munch!  Scoffs the wood pigeon, grazing like a cow

Out!  Cries mother, tugging at a weed
Chatter!  Go the goldfinch, mobbing at the seed
Ha!  Says grandpa, solving puzzles in the sun
Glower!  That's the rain again, spoiling all the fun

The arrival of May

Windertide's grip has stopped fastening

The Haw is preparing to bloom

Treecreeper's been working her socks off

Tirelessly, nurturing the gloom

The time has now come to move forward

Little mouse can go sling-on-her-skates

Burst the bubbles of blossom before her!
Romance some, with her tête-à-tête?
Shakti threw down her last gauntlet

Certhiidae won't fall anymore,

'Cause she's learned how to fly to the bottom

Then pirouette up from the floor!
